We know the feeling. For years we have been translating user manuals, technical files and safety data sheets for the people who answer for them: documentation engineers, export managers, design engineers, DTP coordinators. How we work: four steps of quality control
We come from a school where translation quality is graded by error severity: critical, major, minor. A critical error distorts the meaning of the source or changes how the product is used. Our whole process is built so that this kind of error has no way through:
- A specialist translator. Someone who knows the field, not a “general linguist”. Terminology comes from the glossary and translation memory of your previous projects. First project with us? We build them for you from scratch. That is your asset: it works for every future version of your documentation and lowers its cost.
- Self-review. The translator checks their own work for accuracy, consistency and terminology before passing it on.
- Independent revision. A second specialist reads the whole text separately: accuracy, consistency, style.
- Tool-based QA. Numbers, tags, segmentation and formatting are checked with tools like Xbench, because in technical documentation a typo in a pressure value is not a typo. It is a product defect.

What technical translation costs
The honest answer: less than one held container or one mislabelled production run. We charge per source word, and repetitions from your translation memory cost a fraction of the rate. For documentation that lives in versions (v1.0, v1.1, a new issue after standard changes), that is usually the biggest saving on the invoice.
