Bonding beyond borders and rain: a team weekend in Terchová

In September 2024 the Edit Perfectly team – colleagues from Poland and the Czech Republic – met in Terchová, Slovakia, for an integration weekend. It rained the whole time. We made our own sheep cheese, played board games until 2:30 in the morning and hiked anyway.

Spending this great time with our Edit Perfectly team was an absolute pleasure! Thank you Gabriela, Lenka and Jan.

Here is how we described that weekend at the time:

They say great things happen when you step outside your comfort zone – and sometimes, outside your home country! Last week, our team (coming from Poland and the Czech Republic) came together for an unforgettable integration event in Terchová, Slovakia, overcoming rain, fog, and car issues. Talk about dedication!

We kicked things off by searching for the perfect spot to call home for the weekend – a place that embodied the beauty of our region, even in stormy conditions. Terchová, deep in the Malá Fatra mountains, did not disappoint. Despite the weather, we rolled up our sleeves (literally, as we made our own local sheep cheese!) and dove into Slovakian culinary delights.

The evenings were spent over some hearty local meals, followed by intense board game sessions that went on until 2:30 in the morning. Who would have guessed we would all be rooting for our boss to lose? 😅 Time truly flew by, and before we knew it, we were back at it again, laughing, bonding, and sharing stories.

Even a hike through the rain couldn't dampen our spirits, as we faced down not just the elements but also a few fears of heights and health hurdles. It was a reminder that, together, we can weather any storm – literally and figuratively. Through it all, we had the chance to talk, connect, and get to know each other on a deeper level.

In the end, it wasn't just about the cheese-making, board games, or hiking – it was about us. The memories we created, the conversations we shared, and the bonds we strengthened are what made this event truly special.

Looking forward to the next adventure – hopefully, with a bit more sunshine!
